One of the few private cemeteries that is publicly accessible in Victoria, Hepburn Graves is a short walk from the carpark on Estate Lane, Smeaton.

The graves are a 10–15 minute walk from the car park, clearly marked with wayfinding bollards.

The path winds past beautiful gum trees and follows a gentle incline to the top of the rise, where the headstones overlook the surrounding rolling plains. 

Visitors are invited to take in the history, rural serenity and expansive views of the countryside. Sturdy footwear is recommended, particularly after wet weather. 

There are no facilities at the site. However, a nearby park in Smeaton is suitable for picnics and also shares the story of the Hepburn family. 

Please note that the land surrounding the graves is privately owned and not open to the public. Visitors are asked to remain on the designated walking track and within the graves area only.
