Visitor FAQs

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our special places. This page brings together helpful information to support your visit — from opening hours and bookings to accessibility, tickets and facilities. Whether you’re planning ahead or visiting on the day, these FAQs are designed to help you make the most of your National Trust experience.

Visiting Our Properties

Please check here for up-to-date opening hours for all our properties

We always endeavour to keep information up to date, but we regret that due to operational reasons our properties may have to close at short notice. We take no responsibility for property opening times listed on third party websites.

For most of our properties, you do not need to pre-book and can purchase tickets on arrival.

Pre-booking is needed for House Tours of Como House. Due to high demand, we also encourage pre-booking tickets for open days at Labassa Mansion (Caulfield North) and Polly Woodside (South Wharf).

We’re unable to accept bookings over the phone. If you have any issues booking online please contact us via [email protected] or call 03 9656 9889.

When you book online prior to arrival, you will receive your tickets by email which you will need to bring with you, either on a mobile device or as a print-out. As part of our commitment to sustainability we ask that you avoid printing tickets where possible.

There is no on-site parking at most of our properties. If you are driving you will need to make your own arrangements to park your vehicle. Please ensure you follow directions and times on local parking signs.

Pentridge Prison Tours (Coburg), Mulberry Hill (Mornington Peninsula) and Gulf Station (Yarra Glen) all have parking either on-site or close by, however we cannot guarantee parks for visitors.

Because of the significant environmental and cultural heritage in our care, dogs and other animals are not permitted at our properties. Accredited assistance animals are welcome at all our properties.

Dogs are permitted in the grounds of Como House (South Yarra)

You are welcome to bring and enjoy a picnic on the grounds of our properties. Please note that food and drinks are not permitted inside any of the properties.

The consumption of alcohol is not permitted.

Tickets, Bookings & Membership

As a National Trust Member you do not need to book to visit our properties. Just show your valid Membership Card on arrival.

Bookings are required for special events (exhibition openings, member events, etc) and we encourage pre-booking tickets for open days at Labassa Mansion (Caulfield North), Polly Woodside (South Wharf) and Pentridge Prison Tours (Coburg) due to high demand and timed entry. As a Member, you can reserve your free ticket online in advance.

House Tours of Como House must be booked in advance. You can reserve your free ticket when booking online.

If you have a Pension Card, Seniors Card or Student Card you qualify for a concession ticket.

If you’re visiting our properties for general admission, simply present the companion card onsite to receive complimentary entry. For ticketed events, email a copy of the companion card to [email protected], and we’ll be happy to process the complimentary companion ticket.

If you are a member of another National Trust (such as the National Trust UK) and are travelling to Victoria, you may be eligible for free or discounted entry through the INTO reciprocal visitation program. To learn more and see a full list of participating organisations, please click here.

You can book tickets online using the ‘INTO Member’ ticket type, or present your membership card at the box office on the day.

For groups of more than 10 people please submit an online enquiry here or contact our bookings office via [email protected] or call 03 9656 9889

Ticket transfers to other dates can be accepted in writing via email to [email protected] with at least 48 hours’ notice. Refunds are not permitted.
